Data Storage

Just Tap Fast

Just Tap Fast is a quick-tap arcade game with a global leaderboard. Players tap as fast as they can for 10 seconds, then optionally submit their score under a nickname to compete with other players worldwide.
Because Just Tap Fast includes an online leaderboard, it handles a small amount of data differently than our other apps. This section explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to remove it.
This policy describes how That Side Company LLC ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Just Tap Fast iOS application.
Information We Collect
Leaderboard submissions (only if you choose to submit)
When you finish a round and tap Submit Score, the following information is sent to our leaderboard:
- Nickname — a short name (up to 12 characters) you type yourself. We do not require, request, or verify any real-world identity. Please do not enter your real name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information as your nickname.
- Score — the number of taps you made in the 10-second round.
- Taps per second — derived from your score (score ÷ 10).
- Submission timestamp — the date and time your score was submitted, used for ranking and abuse prevention.
If you do not tap Submit Score, nothing about your round is sent to our servers. The game itself, scores you don't submit, and any settings are kept locally on your device only.
Information we do not collect
- Real name, email address, phone number, or contacts
- Account credentials, passwords, or sign-in details — Just Tap Fast has no user accounts
- Precise location data
- Microphone, camera, photos, or other device sensor data
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
How Your Score Appears Publicly
Submitted scores are publicly visible within the App to anyone who opens the leaderboard. Specifically, other players can see your nickname, your score, and your taps-per-second value. Submission timestamps are stored on our backend for ranking and integrity purposes but are not displayed in the App.
Because the leaderboard is public, please choose a nickname that does not reveal personal information.
Third-Party Services
Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore)
Leaderboard entries (nickname, score, taps-per-second, timestamp) are stored using Google Firebase Cloud Firestore, operated by Google LLC. Firebase acts as our data processor for leaderboard storage. Google may also process technical metadata (such as IP address and device identifiers) as part of providing the Firebase service. See Firebase's privacy and security information and Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Google AdMob
We display banner advertisements through Google AdMob to support the free version of the App. AdMob may collect data for ad delivery, personalization, and measurement, including device identifiers (e.g. advertising ID/IDFA), IP address, general location (based on IP), and app usage data related to ad interactions. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
On first launch, the App requests permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You can decline tracking — in which case AdMob will serve non-personalized ads only — and you can change this choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Apple StoreKit
If the App offers in-app purchases (e.g. to remove ads), those transactions are processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your payment information.
Data Storage & Retention
Local data (unsubmitted scores, settings, purchase status) is stored on your device using standard iOS storage and is removed when you uninstall the App.
Submitted leaderboard entries are stored on Firebase Cloud Firestore for as long as the leaderboard remains active, so other players can continue to see them. We may periodically prune or reset the leaderboard at our discretion (for example, to remove abusive entries, fix data integrity issues, or start fresh seasons). Submitted entries cannot be linked back to a specific person by us unless your nickname itself identifies you.
Your Choices
- Don't submit a score: Just close the result screen without tapping Submit Score. Nothing leaves your device.
- Use a pseudonymous nickname: Pick something that doesn't identify you in real life.
- Request removal of a submitted entry: Email thatsidecompany@gmail.com with the nickname and approximate score/date. We will remove matching entries from the leaderboard within a reasonable time.
- Opt out of personalized ads: Decline ATT tracking, or change it later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Children's Privacy
Just Tap Fast is suitable for general audiences, but it is not directed to children under 13. Because the leaderboard is public, we ask that children under 13 do not submit scores without a parent's involvement. If you believe a child has submitted a score containing identifying information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Data Security
Submitted leaderboard data is transmitted to Firebase over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored within Google's infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we keep the dataset intentionally minimal (nickname, score, taps-per-second, timestamp) to limit risk.
International Users
By using Just Tap Fast and submitting a score, you understand that leaderboard data is stored and processed by Google Firebase, which may operate servers in the United States and other countries. Where applicable, data transfers rely on protections provided by Google's terms and applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this section from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
